Why Ripp enjoys summer
Ripp personally enjoys guiding in summer because the weather is generally more consistent and higher water creates more places to fish.
The fish commonly targeted through the year include redfish, flounder, black drum, speckled trout, sheepshead and big blue catfish.
No honest guide controls the weather or the fish
A successful trip is not measured only by a fish count. Ripp's approach is to teach, answer questions, share bayou history and make sure everyone enjoys the day even when the fish do not cooperate as hoped.
If weather threatens the trip, the group may wait at the landing. When weather forces Ripp's Charters to cancel, deposits are refunded.
Ask about your date
Season-specific species guidance and current conditions are best discussed directly with Ripp when you ask about availability.
